Q&A: What’s the difference between Oahu & Maui? Everyone I know and read about goes to Maui, why?
Question by plgtamu24: What’s the difference between Oahu & Maui? Everyone I know and read about goes to Maui, why?
I really want to see the Arizona Memorial, go to the North Shore, see Waikiki, etc. on Oahu. But I don’t have any friends/family who have been to Oahu, only Maui, and they rave about it. And in reading…it seems like there is much more to do on Oahu. This is my first trip and I can only stay about a week. Someone please help explain the difference so I will know where to stay. Are they the same or totally different?!?!?!?

What would you recommend to do on the Big Island?
Question by DRD: What would you recommend to do on the Big Island?
I’m going to Hawaii for the first time. I’ll be staying in Kona on the Big Island. What are the top 3 or 5 things you would recommend I do?
I am thinking of a Helicopter Volcano tour, I’d like to hike to the lava flows, go snorkeling, a luau, and see native gardens.
I’m going to be in Hawaii a total of 6 days, with some of the time on Oahu.
I am splitting the trip with some time on Oahu, so I get about 4 days on the Big Island. Thanks for the ideas, I’m renting a car, I’m really looking forward to it!

Hike the lava, go snorkeling… how long are you going to be there?
Drive the island…there is so much to see that isn’t tourist-based…
